You may have heard it is easy to get inAug 11 2007Telecommunications
You may have heard it is easy to get in. Of course it is, they only want your money. Try to get as much financial aid from them BEFORE you attend (around 20k is nice). You can resubmit portfolios as many times as you need to, and take the ACT and get a 33 if you can. If money isn't a problem, then SCAD will love you.

Applied, had a decentMay 18 2006Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
Applied, had a decent SAT score (just break 1000), and most important to the school, have $$$$. No portfolio required.

P.S. Don't beleive the brochures. Go visit, see the town and if you can, go out with a few students. Maybe it's the place for you. I put what I put here, because I felt like I was really mislead by the college, not because I think Scad isn't the right school for anybody. I still have friends who loved it. I came from the southfork of Long Island, so needless to say, I was used to somewhat higher standards of socializing and ...well cleanliness, and un-fried food......

Although they do not require a portfolio if youSep 30 2005Industrial Design
Although they do not require a portfolio if you have one you should submit it. And if you don't have one or don't feel like your is very good don't worry about it, unlike some art schools that expect you to know everything prior to starting SCAD welcomes you even if you haven't had great art teachers in high school. I didn't have one, but I know a lot of people that did and it helped them if they did not have a good SAT/ACT score. The other thing I would recommend is to go visit. You need to make up your own mind, suggestions from other people are great, but until you see it for yourself you will never truly be able to make an informed decision. Also talk to as many people as possible when you are there and spend a few days in Savannah check out the things that are not on the SCAD tour. See if you feel comfortable. You are talking about spending 4 years in this city, isn't that worth at least 48 hours of your time?

Get a good portfolio together and get some solidSep 12 2004Architecture
Get a good portfolio together and get some solid letters of recomendation from the teachers that taught classes in your major. SCAD doesn't pay close attention to grades or SAT scores they are more interested in talent and if your high school was prestigious. Seriously I know kids here that went to good private schools and got 2.0 GPAs and 1000 and lower SATs and still got in because of their portfolio.
SAT: 1170 Male
